Functions FAQHow many people can the trams cater for?
One tram can seat up to 50 people. Our entire fleet can cater for a maximum of 250 people.
How far in advance should I book my function?
Our busy months are October – February, so advance bookings are recommended to avoid disappointment.
At what time can I book a function for?
You can book a function for anytime departing at 8.00am – 10.00pm (winter times 8.00am – 7.30pm)
Where do we need to board the tram?
You can choose to be picked up and dropped off at any of your 11 tram stops along the route.
Can we have several pick up locations?
Due to the function trams using the same tracks as the public trams we must limit the number of pick up locations to a maximum of 3 different tram stops.
Can we bring our own food and beverages?
You may choose from a variety of options, including transport only, transport with BYO, or a fully catered function including beverage and/or canapés. For more information please contact our Reservations Manager at tram@welcomeaboard.co.nz or 03 364 9921.
What is the selection of drinks provided on the trams?
We offer bubbly, 2 kinds of beer and a range of soft drinks. We can also include a red and or white wine on request.
Are we allowed to provide our own music?
Yes, all trams are equipped with a CD player.
Is the tram suitable for Children’s Parties?
We would love to help you celebrate your child’s birthday; however we kindly remind you that our trams are ‘moving antiques’ which have been lovingly refurbished to their original pristine condition. Do you decorate the tram?
If you supply the decorations we will be happy to help you decorate the trams.
