| During February, to celebrate the 15th anniversary of the Heritage Tramway operating in Christchurch, the city’s first electric tram will once again be touring the city streets. The Number 1 tram was originally built in 1905 and has been lovingly restored to its former glory by the Ferrymead Heritage Tramway Trust.
The Christchurch No. 1 tramcar is one of 10 California Combination trams built for the Christchurch Tramway Board. Five (including No. 1) were supplied ready-to-run by the American John Stephenson and Co, and another five were built in Christchurch by Boon & Co in Ferry Road. Presented in the livery of the former Christchurch Tramway Board and riding on a single four-wheel truck, a distinctive feature of No. 1 is the motorman’s open platform offering a Biggles-style street view.

Trailer 115 becomes a film set!
|
Trailer 115 became an impromptu film set on 12 January for a BBC documentary, Wanted Down Under.
Cameraman Jon Bowden and director Will Ridgeon filmed and interviewed some of the Maxwall family Tracy and her children Olivia, Abigail and Harvey about their proposed migration to Christchurch.
Seems Tracy was finding some aspects of Christchurch "quaint' compared to her more sophisticated home. In the meantime they were holidaying in Christchurch. Cameraman Jon took what appeared to be promising shots of the children enjoying the views from the trailer's front platform.
